New insights into skin ageing

The scientific committee is pleased to announce that Prof. Christopher Griffiths, from University of Manchester, United Kingdom, will give a talk on the New insights into skin ageing“, during Porto Skin Ageing & Challenges Congress 2020, which will be held in Porto, on November 5-6, 2020.

Prof. Griffiths will highlight following topics during his talk:

– Skin ageing is recognized as a confluence of genetic predisposition and environmental influences such as sunlight, diet etc.

– Photoageing of the skin  – the combination of chronic exposure to sunlight and intrinsic ageing – manifests as either atrophic or hypertrophic with distinct clinical and histological characteristics.

– Future work on skin ageing will focus much more on lifestyle to enable a prolongation of healthspan and on a personalized approach to management.
