We are delighted to share the scientific agenda of Skin Ageing & Challenges 2026, which will take place in Málaga, Spain, on October 28–29, 2026 under this year’s theme: Skin Longevity. The meeting has been designed around a simple but ambitious question: how can we better understand, measure and eventually modify skin ageing?
This year’s program brings together an outstanding group of invited speakers from academia, clinical practice and innovation. Across two days, they will explore the biology of skin ageing from multiple angles — from the exposome and cellular senescence to mitochondria, the microbiome, epigenetics, sensing technologies, regeneration and clinical translation.
Among the invited speakers
Jean Krutmann will open the scientific discussion with his perspective on the future of skin longevity, linking exposome science with precision prevention. He will be joined on Day One by Daniel S. Roh, Mikołaj Ogrodnik and Haruki Horiguchi, who will address senescence, wound healing, immunity and inflammaging in skin ageing.
The afternoon of Day One will highlight the ageing skin ecosystem, with Shigeru Yanagi presenting on mitochondria–melanosome communication, Jingjing Xia on skin microbiome ecology, and Shigefumi Okamoto on host–microorganism dialogue in skin ageing.
Day Two will focus on measurement and intervention. John A. Rogers, Aoife Morrin and Manuel Rodríguez-Paredes will explore continuous sensing, volatile signatures and non-invasive epigenetic profiling as emerging tools to assess biological skin ageing.
The program will then move toward translation and rejuvenation strategies with Hugo Agostinho Machado Fernandes and Angel Menendez Vazquez (Mitra Bio), before concluding with Leah Wei, who will open the final session on the interface between science, industry and clinical reality.
Beyond the invited lectures, the congress will also feature short oral presentations, poster sessions and scientific discussions, creating a dynamic space for exchange between established experts and emerging voices in the field. A key highlight of the meeting will be the final discussion asking: What evidence do we need before we can claim “Skin Longevity”?
Skin Ageing & Challenges 2026 promises to be a high-level, forward-looking meeting for everyone interested in the future of skin longevity science.
