Explaining human skin perception from barrier and biomechanical properties

The Scientific Committee is pleased to inform you that Prof. Reinhold H. Dauskardt, Ruth G. and William K. Bowes Professor in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Surgery at Stanford University will join us during Skin Ageing & Challenges 2019

Prof. Reinhold H. Dauskardt will give a talk on Explaining human skin perception from barrier and biomechanical properties.

His lab has worked extensively on integrating new materials into emerging nanoscience and energy technologies and also on the barrier and biomechanical function of human skin and other soft tissues. His work has concentrated on establishing a biomechanics framework to understand and control the biological processes that determine the effects of treatments and exposures on perception and damage processes in human skin and on the barrier function of human skin including the role of damaging oxidizing and UV exposures.
