Topic: Biology Underneath the Skin: Employing Nature’s Approach to Skin Rejuvenation.

Presentation Highlights

Inspired by Nature, Prof. Helms' group at Stanford is working on therapeutic strategies that slow, prevent, and repair age-related skin disorders. At the heart of this new research is the self-renewing skin stem cell, and our growing realization that these stem cells can be activated by liposomal formulations of Wnt protein to regenerate the epidermis.

Addressing challenges in skin aging and stem cell science require “moonshot thinking” and serious team science, both made possible by Stanford School of Medicine’s diverse environment.
