Dr. Uraiwan Panich from Mahidol University, Thailand, will join the Skin Ageing & Challenges 2025 Congress and present a major talk entitled "Targeting Mitochondrial Pathways and Keratinocyte–Fibroblast Crosstalk Mitigates UVB-Induced Skin Damage".

This study shows that mitochondrial antioxidant MitoQ, niacinamide, and keratinocyte–fibroblast crosstalk protect the skin from UVB-induced damage. Treatments improved keratinocyte migration, reduced pro-inflammatory cytokines, and restored mitochondrial function. Keratinocyte-derived signals also alleviated fibroblast stress via NF-κB modulation. These results highlight mitochondrial and paracrine pathways as promising therapeutic targets for photoaging prevention and enhanced wound repair.
