SRB1 as a redox target of pollution induced skin damage

It is great pleasure to welcome Prof. Giuseppe Valacchi from University of Ferrara, Italy who will be present “SRB1 as a redox target of pollution induced skin damage” during the 10th International congress on Skin Ageing & Challenges 2019 which will be held on February 25-27, 2019 in Porto, Portugal.

Short summary of the presentation: “SRB1, receptor involved in minting the lipid homeostasis, has been recently discovered in the cutaneous tissues and its functions in skin physiology are still under investigation. Several reports have shown the ability of outdoor stressors to alter its expression via an oxidative mechanism. We report that SRB1 levels is compromise by pollutants exposure such as ozone, PM and cigarette smoke and that in model SRB1-ko skin properties are changes. In the specific, SRB1 seems to modulate both proliferation and differentiation of the epidermis.”
