We are honored to announce that Prof. Jean-François Doré, Inserm Emeritus Research Director, France, will join the Skin Ageing & Challenges 2021 Congress and will give a presentation entitled “UV exposure, a major skin ageing factor“.

Prof. Doré will talk in his presentation that among the numerous biological effects of sun exposure, ultraviolet radiation (UV) is a major skin ageing factor. The best prevention would be avoidance, but difficult to implement (with the exception of avoidance of deliberate exposure to sunbeds). An efficient prevention requires knowledge of solar UV conditions. But UV exposure assessment is not simple since solar UV radiation varies locally according to season and time of the day and is composed of direct, reflected (albedo) and diffuse radiations. Do we need to use a personal computer when going in the sun ? Recent climatology studies in Europe may give clues for prevention, providing advice for sun protection according to season and time of the day.
