The Role of Climate Change in Skin Aging: Epidemiological Evidence

Nidhi Singh

Dr. Nidhi Singh, IUF – Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine, Germany, will join Skin Ageing & Challenges 2023 to give a presentation entitled “The Role of Climate Change in Skin Aging: Epidemiological Evidence”.

Climate change is the biggest threat that the world is facing today. The nonlinear rise in temperature has already accounted for millions of deaths and related morbidities. However, the effect of ambient temperature on skin aging has not been studied and the resulting biological consequences are therefore poorly understood. Human skin which is the most exposed part of the body, bears the brunt of any changes in the external environment.

Thus, it is the need of the hour to understand the dynamics with which rising temperature conjugate with other environmental factors to cause alterations in the skin’s barrier function and facilitate the development of coarse wrinkles, solar elastosis and pigment irregularities.

Join Dr. Singh this November to learn more about the effect of climate change on skin aging.
