Skin Aging in Indians Living in Highly Polluted Areas

Dr. Pia Jahan, from IUF-Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine, Germany will join the Skin Ageing & Challenges 2021 Congress and will give a presentation entitled “Skin Aging in Indians Living in Highly Polluted Areas“.
Several epidemiological studies provided evidence showing that elevated medium- or long-term exposures to fine particulate matter was associated with skin aging besides lung and heart diseases. India has the world’s highest air pollution levels. Therefore, the project “Air pollution exposure on aging-related outcomes in the Indian population in three major Indian cities” provides insights in the differences of skin aging in Indian women and the role of extreme air pollution on skin aging.
