Turning Back the Clock – Harnessing Reprogramming to Rejuvenate Cells

Dr. Inês Milagre, Católica Biomedical Research Centre / Católica Medical School/ Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Portugal, will join Skin Ageing & Challenges 2022 to give an interesting presentation on “Turning Back the Clock – Harnessing Reprogramming to Rejuvenate Cells”.

In Dr.  Milagre’s talk, she will present the novel partial reprogramming method they developed which rejuvenates human fibroblasts. They observed significant and robust rejuvenation of fibroblasts, as assessed by molecular measures of ageing, including transcriptome and DNA methylation clocks. DNA methylation memory in fibroblast enhancers seems to allow recovery of cell identity after removal of the reprogramming factors. Importantly, reacquisition of youthful levels of collagen proteins and better performance in wound healing assays, suggest a rejuvenation of fibroblast function.

Join us in November in Lisbon to know all about strategies to prevent skin ageing and many more topics.
